Plastikon works with the world’s largest and most innovative companies to provide seamless capabilities in Plastic Injection Molding and Blow/Fill/Seal (BFS) solutions. With a large contract from a well known electric vehicle manufacturer, they had recently completed the conversion of a large warehouse into manufacturing space.  They had implemented energy efficiency improvements such as LED lighting throughout the facility but wanted further efficiencies.  SilRay worked with them to develop this 600 kW rooftop solar system that not only saves lots of money but also signals to Plastikon’s elite partners that they are committed to an optimization goal to reduce the environmental impact along the life cycle of the green product.  In other words, they’re committed to a green, sustainable supply network. The system produces over 850,000 kWh and saves Plastikon over $125,000 in electricity expenditures annually.

Have you or your business ever put a great photo or image on a mug or water bottle?  That’s just one of the many creative solutions that Photo USA provides.  Since 1992, they’ve been a leading product sublimation and printing company in the United States. Like many other mid-sized businesses in the Bay Area, they were looking for ways to become more sustainable and to also reduce the impacts of ongoing electricity rate increases.  Solar fit the bill perfectly for them.  This 256 kW solar system now offsets 100% of electricity usage on site and saves Photo USA over $60,000 annually, and solar will save them over $2.4 million over the life of the system.  Interestingly, this system will save them even more money if the utility increases rates by more than 4% per year, and of course electricity cost increases this year alone have been greater  than 20%!

Our client now acts as a “utility” provider to their tenant by selling them clean solar energy at a lower rate than a traditional utility provider. Together they win economically by going solar!

With a rich history that actually dates back to 1910, this food processing plant was founded 1984 in Detroit, MI; with a focus on customizing flavors and scents across several industries in order to inspire other corporations to create truly flavorful food and drink consumables.  This particular business has a mission statement which includes strict adherence to quality, price, service, logistical excellence, and … sustainability! This food processing plant decided that SilRay would be the company to add solar to their newly constructed state-of-the-art Ontario, CA facility due to our responsiveness, continual professionalism, as well as the fact that our execution expertise was coupled with credibility. Additionally, a direct testimonial from one of our prior clients added increased project development enthusiasm; and, assured this medium-sized manufacturing business that SilRay was the commercial solar company to trust! 79% of annual kWh usage at this facility was offset with this solar implementation. In 2014, SilRay finished construction on a full coverage rooftop array supplemented by a custom engineered support structure, which doubles as a dry, shaded parking array for their local delivery trucks.

SilRay works with our customers to find cost-effective solar solutions for all income levels. Our client was eager to add solar to their organic farm, but needed financial assistance. SilRay designed a unique financing scheme where our company will own the solar system for the first ten years of its life and lease the system to the customer at the same rate as their avoided monthly utility bills, with a small annual escalator. At the end of ten years, the system will be sold to the customer at a residual value. This financing method is a win-win, allowing the project to move forward with minimal up-front expense by the client. In this situation, the client solicited offers from many contractors, none of whom was able to provide a financially viable solution that would be beneficial to both the customer and the contractor. SilRay was able to succeed where our competitors could not, utilizing our strategic partnerships to reduce the construction cost of the system to a financially viable level for both our company and the client. SilRay designed, financed, and built a 110 kW ground-mounted solar system for the client, utilizing SilRay brand panels. The electricity from the system will power the farm’s packing plant, and will reduce their utility costs by nearly $30,000 annually.

Hospital & Clinics – Palo Alto, CA

SilRay’s turn-key development solution enables projects to be carried out in a rapid and cost-effective manner. Our projects are tailored to provide the best solution to each client’s needs. Such was the case with this Hospital and Clinic. Like many California organizations, this Hospital and Clinic considers the environment in all aspects of its daily operations. In 2013, hospital management decided to advance this commitment by addressing their energy demands with a solar photo-voltaic energy system. SilRay crafted a unique financing solution, which resulted in this client being able to own the solar array and save on their electricity bills within their specified budget. SilRay’s solution incorporated 196 roof mounted SilRay-brand solar panels. The system produces approximately 67,000 kWh annually, providing 17% of the organization’s electrical needs. This solar array will save this client an estimated $472,000 over its 25-year lifetime, while providing a clean, reliable source of energy. During construction, the project went smoothly through City of Palo Alto inspections, and coordinated successfully with the 24-7 laboratory operations of the host building. As of the operation start date, this Hospital and Clinic is generating free electricity from the sun.    

US Coast Guard – Petaluma, CA
